Honestly, I have no idea who this guy is or what he is capable of. I remember a while ago there was a bit of hype around him at the Sharks, but it pretty much faded and we never heard from him again.
The Sunday Telegraph, in particular James Phelps, are on a roll with Roosters stories this morning and this one is one of the best. Interestingly, this snippet says Moa may land a spot on the bench:
“My game was based on running hard and trying to bust the line. I had no focus on defence and thanks to Craig Fitzgibbon and Mark O’Meley they taught me there was a lot more to the game. I have since worked on becoming more of a complete player and now a pride myself on defence more than running.”
Fitzgibbon, now Roosters defence coach, helped Moa, 26, land a gig at the new look Roosters.
“Fitzy pushed to get me here,” Moa said. “The opportunity came up and I jumped at it. I am under no illusions and have been working hard.”
Moa is already leading by example. Expected to land a spot on the bench, the prop has been giving advice to the young Polynesian players at the club.
In my earlier post which unveiled what I reckon would be the Roosters’ top 17, we now have to account for Luke O’Donnell — or so it seems — and Moa.
My original bench was Tasi, Seluini, Aubo and Guerra, with Frank Paul at lock.
I think they keep FPN in the starting side realistically, leaving the bench looking something like LO’D, Moa, Aubo and Guerra. It looks like young Tasi will get squeezed out sadly. I’m a massive fan of his, but I also know jack shit about Moa so we’ll have to wait and see.
I do know he’s capable of this though:
