New Vice-Captain and future Captain-Captain Mitchell Pearce has re-upped with the club until 2017.
This is massive news and shores up the future of their halves for the next half-decade. Amazingly, when this contract expires he’ll be just hitting his halfback prime, at 28. Remarkable.
If he stays on at the club for good you’re looking at a player who will not only hold the club record for most caps, but the NRL record for most games played for the one club and possibly most games played ever.
This is barring injury of course but in his young career he has been remarkably durable and has already played seven seasons and nine Origin matches.
he still has a lot to learn but could go down as a great if he ever puts his amazing tool-set all together.
