Burgess implies the Sydney Roosters are over the cap. Yawn.

Sam Burgess reckons we’re cheating the cap. Chuck him on the end of a queue that includes every Souths fan.

(Sigh.)

Here’s what he said (click to follow link):

Capture

Yeah Sam, not many players have left to make way for four players.

Obviously he hasn’t read 26 Rounds.

We’ve covered off off all this bullshit already, but to respond to his claim that “not many have left”, the list of players who’ve left is as follows:

Braith Anasta, Justin Carney, Joseph Leilua, Anthony Mitchell, Sam Perrett, Anthony Cherrington, Brad Takairangi, Jack Littlejohn, Mose Masoe, Curtis Rona and Peni Tagive, and now Tom Symonds.

You know how we fit all these stars under the one salary cap? The same way the Rabbitohs can sign every member of your family as well as Greg Inglis, Mick Crocker, Ben Te’o, Beau Champion and Roy Asotasi, and then have the gall to want to sign Robbie Farah despite already boasting Isaac Luke and Nathan Peats.

As they say in England: you muppet.

Can’t wait for Thursday.

Cos those guys pay packets would’ve taken up sooo much of the cap.

    • Braith Anasta wasn’t on a big contract? Fine, i failed to mention we’d also released Nate Myles and Todd Carney the year before and didn’t replace them. PLUS the salary cap went up. Is that enough?

  2. Souths are definitely under the cap. But the roosters say they only used around 90% of the cap in 2012… So Maloney, SBW, Jennings, Oldfield and O’Donnell only take up 10%… Even if you take out Anasta and the other little names… They’re definitely over

  3. Have souffs fans got nothing better to do in life than post cliche insults on a pro-Roosters website? Get a life. And perhaps more pertinently, get your club a new owner.

  4. LOL@Souffs !!!! first you have no idea regarding any sort of figures that are flying around, and if we recall, Aouffs had MAJOR issues with getting Inglis under the salary cap when he signed…. how quickly you inbreads forget !

  5. Odonnel or Olfield are not on big money they just wanted an oportunity,Jennings and Maloney were chased by quite a few clubs (incl souffs), seems like souffs fans get very jealous that we usually get a player we are chasing where as souffs have attracting quality players without throwing the leagues club at them,in inglis case.
We have lost more players than we gained and nobody in the public knows what they were payed so its just the usual hate of the Roosters, bring it on I say.
