There’s an awful lot of Bill Williamses (Bill Williai?) on Twitter these days…

So either Sonny Bill Williams has channelled his inner Wilt Chamberlain and sired hundreds of children in the past week, or Sydney Roosters fans have shown an overwhelming amount of support for its new favourite son as he expects a furious reception from fans he left five years ago.

Roosters fans on Twitter have shown massive support for Sonny Bill — by changing their handles to variations of his name and changing their avatars en masse to images featuring the superstar, and created the hashtags #SBWBrigade and #SBWFamily.

(@RamirezJnr, now known as Jnr Bill Williams ™, says the movement was started by @elanitraykin (avatars) and @sootster (handles) who are both now known as MRS BILL WILLIAMS 🙂 and Davey Bill Williams respectively. Kudos to the two of you.)

For example, here’s the 26 Rounds official Twitter account, changed April 10 when the movement went viral:

26BW

I don’t want to oversell this or be accused of hyperbole, but this is up there with Kony 2012 and Two Girls One Cup as one of the more moving tributes/campaigns seen online — ever.

However, there are still a few Roosters fans that haven’t taken to the trend, and those fans need to be NAMED AND SHAMED.

(Just kidding: turn up to the game and it’s all sweet.)

If you have changed your handle and image and hope to be seen and immortalised as someone that truly “represents”, send 26 Rounds a .jpg (use the Snipping Tool in Windows; with Apple, you’re on your own) of your Twitter account in a similar format to the ones below to jakejarmel01@gmail.com.

The following is merely a selection of all those who have changed their name from the followers list of 26 Rounds:
