When The Count wants to #freeLama, you better free him.
Instagram has again given us a little insight into who will play for the Roosters in light of Jared Waerea-Hargreaves’ suspension, with Anthony Minichiello posting the following image:
Notice that Mini has taken up the #freeLama movement (in the comments below the image) started here and championed by fans of the young prop across Twitter? Chalk that up to a win for common sense.
From this image and the comments we can gather that, as expected, Dylan Napa will be the 18th man with Tasi either coming off the bench or starting. According to a reliable source, as long as there are no hiccups Luke O’Donnell will start in the front row alongside Marty Kennedy with Frank-Paul Nu’uasala and Lama coming off the bench.
Luke O’Donnell has been good in the go-forward department recently, with 78 metres off nine hit-ups against the Sea Eagles and 103 off 12 runs with four offloads against the Panthers a week earlier.
But given he is a natural front-rower, it would make sense to start Lama alongside their only other specialist prop in Kennedy, while bringing FPN and O’Donnell to play a hybrid front-row/wide-runner game.
