We may have another season of Sonny Bill Williams wearing the red, white and blue yet.
The official Twitter account of the New Zealand All Blacks just revealed the following:
This is the surest sign that the current superstar Rooster is returning to rugby league for at least next season, and unless a club makes a big money offer it is likely he will don the Tricolours as the club looks to defend its first premiership in 11 years.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald:
Williams met Chiefs coach Dave Rennie, technical director Wayne Smith and NZRU general manager Neil Sorenson in Sydney on Thursday but has turned down their three year offer as he wants to stay with the Roosters.
A new NRL deal is expected to be finalised before he heads to England with the New Zealand World Cup squad next week.
SBW has been embroiled in controversy already this offseason afetr backflipping on withdrawing his availability for the upcoming Rugby League World Cup, which meant Tohu Harris was dropped.
But the backflip was the first indicator that he might reurn to the NRL for another stint.
