Raffle and Auction on tonight in memory of John Ward

If you get a chance tonight, head down to Selina’s at the Coogee Bay Hotel to help Mal Ward raise funds for the Westmead Children’s Hospital in memory of his son, who died far too soon.

Mal lost his son, John, at the age of just nine years old in 2008, but in his short time the Roosters players loved him — he became fast friends with Adrian Morley and Willie Mason over the years among others, and his life was cut far too short.

So Mal is undertaking a raffle to raise funds for Westmead, with 40 prizes on offer in a raffle draw along with four auction items, plenty of giveaways and finger foods ahoy.

Tickets are $2 each, 6 for $10, 13 for $20 or 35 for $50 and the proceeds are going to clearly a great cause. If you’d like to donate but can’t attend, call Mal on 0414 293 396 or email mal@greataussiebbq.com.

He’s also turning 50, so wish him a happy birthday while you’re at it.
